To kill a Mockingbird is a story about growing up and going through life. Scout our main character faces obstacles that make it so that she sees the real world and has the other choice. she lives in a small town where everyone has there own social status depending on their race, who their parents are, and how long they have lived in maycomb. Scout learns you can not believe everything people tell you. when her father defends a black man who was wrongly accused of rape and is obviously not guilty nut still found guilty she has to realize that the world is not perfect. she befriends the town crazy boo Radley and finds out people lie when they don't understand someone. throughout this novel scout grows up and "comes of age".
